Unique Summer Festivals 2023
Delaware County is home to many unique festivals you will not find anywhere else. There is extraordinary talent in the Great Western Catskills and many vibrant traditions that are showcased through festivals and events all summer long. From the Deposit Lumberjack Festival to the Honest Brook Music Festival featuring world class musicians in a converted Dairy Barn, there is something for everyone no matter your taste.

The Hobart Festival of Women Writers has garnered a growing crowd since 2013. This festival welcomes all genders to attend yet highlights the skill and craft of women writers in the small Hobart Book Village. This three day festival offers workshops, writing intensives, art shows, and readings from the nation’s most talented writers of television, poetry, novels, and more.
Learn how to dance and drum in the tradition of Native Americans of the Catskills at the annual Delaware River Bear Festival POW-WOW in Margaretville, NY. There are vendors and activities all day long on June 3rd & 4th. This event is family friendly and a lot of fun.
The Stagecoach Run Art Festival is a free, self-guided open studio and gallery tour of some of the area’s best artists, performers, and makers. This festival has been on a hiatus since 2019 and is excited to welcome visitors to attend the tour. The Festival is July 1 & 2 and encourages attendees to regularly check their website for updates on demonstrations, performances and other happenings.

The Deposit Lumberjack Festival which takes place every third weekend of July is now in its 47th year. This July 14- July 16, come experience the festival that has been gathering growing crowds for nearly half a century. The festival offers impressive lumberjack competitions, a huge vendor market, a car show, live music multiple times a day, a raft race, fireworks, a lumberjack parade, tractor pulls, and so much more.
The Honest Brook Music Festival kicks off its 34th season on July 15. This festival showcases high caliber musicians in a beautiful bucolic setting. Where else can you see performers who graced the stage of Carnegie Hall the night before while now seated in a renovated dairy barn along a dirt road?

July 22 will be the amazing Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival. This festival offers a day of yoga, meditation, workshops, hikes, plant walks, shopping in the vendor village, and delicious food all while atop the gorgeous Plattekill Mountain. This festival offers a unique opportunity to do yoga with a stunning and vast view.
Roxbury Arts Group is hosting the Headwaters Music + Arts Festival on Saturday, July 29th. This free celebration of music and community, welcomes musicians to perform on their front porches and lawns along Stamford’s Main Street for a free-flowing audience of townspeople.
