13 Best Airbnbs Within 3 Hours of New York City in Conde Nast Traveler
by Madison Flager
Of all the wonderful things New York City has to offer—an easily navigable subway system, more art, museums, and music than you know what to do with, endless cuisine options—there are a few things that are hard to come by, space being chief among them. Luckily, when New Yorkers need a dose of nature (or at least a temporary backyard), there are plenty of nearby destinations just a few hours drive away, from the Hamptons and the Catskills to out-of-state spots like Philadelphia, the Berkshires, and Cape May, New Jersey.
To help narrow down the options, we rounded up 13 of the best Airbnbs within three hours of the city for easy weekend getaways or drivable summer vacations, whether you want to be close to the beach, in the mountains, have enough room for the whole family to join, or just jump in a pool.
Bloomville, New York
One of associate editor Betsy Blumenthal’s favorite Airbnbs, this Catskills apartment sits atop a (highly recommended) restaurant called Table on Ten. Ideal for a couple or solo traveler, the navy blue room has a queen-sized bed, painted wooden floors, large windows, and a table and chair to work or read at. To note, guests share a bathroom—which has a clawfoot tub, toilet, and sink—with whoever’s staying in the second room.
