Robert W. Nichol Nature Preserve and Science Center
The Robert W. Nichol Nature Preserve and Science Center is located at 404 West Main Street in the village of Hancock. The nature preserve provides recreational and educational experiences in a natural setting for students, local residents, and visitors. Walkways around the property allow visitors to identify flora of a wide variety, trees from soft woods, hard woods, to evergreens of various types, and the observance and study of bird and animal life. The Science Center is a building complete with study facilities that provide an enhanced science-based education experience for students to study the importance of ecology of wetlands, pond life, indigenous plant life, as well as the study of native wildlife, life-cycles and wildlife habitats.
The walking trails are open all the time, the Science Center is open upon request and for special events.
