Kirkside Park
Kirkside Park is the former estate of Helen Gould Shepard, daughter of Roxbury native son, Jay Gould.
In 1980, the park was under threat of development and a group of community citizens raised the funds to purchase the 11-acre park and donated it to the Town of Roxbury with the stipulation that it remain a public park in perpetuity. In 1999 the Town began the restoration of this community jewel and today it serves as the centerpiece of the hamlet. Located behind the majestic Gould Church on Main Street, Kirkside Park is the ideal place to enjoy the beauty of the Catskills in a beautifully restored and meticulously manicured and maintained historic site.
