The iconic restaurant, a Margaretville landmark since 1978 will get a new lease on life this fall, thanks to its sale to real-estate developer Philip Farinacci. The Binnekill Tavern will be directed by Chef Bryan Calvert and will serve up some traditional specialties like the famed schnitzel made famous by the previous Binnekill Square restaurant owners, in addition to other specialties from potted shrimp to escargot.
Farinacci says he was inspired to invest in this landmark restaurant in the Catskills, as this area is experiencing a culinary explosion, and he and his partner wanted to be a part of it. The restaurant will keep some of the traditional décor features from the old Binnekill Square restaurant, while other improvements will be made to bring the building up to date. In the warmer months, diners will also have the option eat outside on the restaurant deck.
Hours: Thursday through Monday 5 p.m.-11 p.m.
