Outdoor Dining

The sun is shining, the air is warm and you just want to get outside and enjoy every second of summer weather. Here are some of the outdoor dining options in the Great Western Catskills. We recommend you try them all, so let us know your favorites.

110 Main Street, Andes

While there are a variety of events in the back of  The Andes Hotel in the summer months, the most rewarding dining experience is on the front deck of the historic hotel in the heart of Andes, New York. Big tables under a large awning protect guests from the sun while they enjoy the restaurant, brunch, and tavern menus.

8 Winkler Road, Sidney

Umbrellas cover cute picnic tables in front of the main door of the Awestruck tap room and production facility in Sidney, New York. Enjoy the warm air with one of the many Awestruck ciders or beers on tap and enjoy their delicious variety of casual food. We can’t stop raving about the nachos.

746 Main Street, Margaretville

Binnekill Tavern is as lively as it is spacious, and as the weather warms they offer outdoor patio dining right the water’s edge. Enjoy their take on what they call “Mountain Comfort Food” Thursday through Monday with the kitchen open from 5pm to 9pm (the restaurant opens for drinks at 4pm). Brunch is served on Sundays from 11am to 3pm where you might enjoy one of their fantastic Bloody Marys.

760 Main Street, Hobart

The twinkle lights of the beer garden at The Bull & Garland lure you in for a stream side drink. A great place to gather and meet friends, the beer garden is the perfect accompaniment to the interior and porch dining of this delicious British Pub inspired restaurant. From small plates like their Scotch Egg to the traditional beer-battered fish and chips main course, The Bull & Garland has something for everyone and is a super adorable place to enjoy some cocktails or beer in the warmer weather.

44681 NY-28, Arkville

Oakley’s is a warm and  welcoming restaurant right on Route 28 between Flesichmanns and Arkville that offers delicious pizza and much more, all prepared on their wood-fired grill. With relatively new ownership, the menu continues to evolve and outdoor seating options have expanded. Enjoy your meal or one of their many craft brews on a nice day while sitting in the sun or under an umbrella. They have recently added a new deck and pets are always welcome!

123 Main Street, Delhi

Grab one of the delicious beers or ciders on tap or order up a meal from their extensive menu of pub fare and enjoy it outside in the back of the restaurant. Tables with umbrellas and a comfy outdoor couch welcome everyone to the back patio of The Shire Pub.

52030 New York Route 10, Bloomville

Whether enjoying their variety of delicious wines and ciders with pizzas on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm or devouring one of their incredible brunch dishes Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the enclosed picnic table area next to the charming farm house is the perfect way to enjoy the warm days and nights.

Located right behind the Tin Horn on the main street in Andes, Two Old Tarts is a restaurant and bakery dedicated to providing fresh, inventive, and irresistible baked delights, breakfasts, lunches and dinners with a unique twist. Grab one of their delicious slices of pie, a latte or a glass of wine and enjoy the warm weather on their large deck or large dining room.

55 Redden Lane, Andes

Head down the driveway which is Redden Lane and find a little oasis of brightly painted picnic tables with umbrellas where you can enjoy the cider that this team makes on the premises, New York State craft beer, a great selection of wine and spirits, as well as a wide assortment of food options from lamb kebabs with meat from Evans and Evans Farm down the road to cheese plates from a variety of local cheese makers to big bright green salads and so much more. Well behaved dogs on leash are always welcome in the yard.

Many of our restaurants have small outdoor seating but these were some of the few that we know can handle a large group. If we missed your favorite, please let us know and we will add new places from time to time.
