Festival of Women Writers 2019

As a county, we feel incredibly lucky to have the Book Village here in Hobart, NY. Who would ever think that the large and rural County of Delaware would be home to a village that has embraced the written word in such a fantastic and wholehearted way?

Not only does it offer a variety of book stores, it is also the host to an incredibly unique festival celebrating women writers. For the past five years, the Book Village has been home to the much-anticipated annual event called the Festival of Women Writers. This year will be the sixth annual festival, where woman writers from all over the country once again come to Hobart for three days to share and celebrate their insights, skills and works.

The festival begins Friday September 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. and kicks off with two writing intensive sessions, followed by three workshops hosted by Margot Farrington, Ginnah Howard, and Yesenia Montilla. Friday night’s events end with a table reading and stage writing discussion from the works of Elizabeth Searle. This just scratches the surface with regards to what is on deck for the weekend, as participants continue to engage in several rounds of workshops, readings, writing intensives and discussions.

If you are interested in participating in the festival, please visit the official website for more information.
