February brings out the romance in us. Valentine’s Day on the 14th makes it the month of puffy hearts, flower bouquets and giant boxes of chocolate. If nothing else, it’s a welcome diversion from the long, cold winter. Whether you’re a fan of grand romantic gestures or enjoy a more low-key connection with your sweetheart, love is always worth celebrating. This year, we’d like to entice to you experience a sweet escape to the Catskills! Fun and completely doable, you can’t go wrong with a simple lovers’ getaway. Besides, Rally just listed one of our towns, Delhi, NY, as one of their top destinations for a romantic getaway.
Here’s what you’ll need.
A comfy place to stay. Intimacy is key, so look for a lovely cabin with a fireplace or a room at a quiet B&B. Another idea: the famous Roxbury Motel has a host of unique and luxurious fantasy rooms with themes like The Noir Boudoir and Miss Kitty’s Saloon. See all of our lodging options here.
A nice dinner. There are lots of restaurants to explore around here, dotted all around our beautiful mountain landscape. A few suggestions:
Extra TLC. It's not a getaway without some pampering. Get a couple's massage and other treatments at Shimmer Spa at the Roxbury Motel (guests only), or opt for a soothing massage with A Time to Heal Massage (Walton, NY), Jess About Massage (Delhi, NY) or Cindy Warren Rangel (Hancock, NY). Public swimming pools and saunas can be found at Hanah Country Resort (Margaretville, NY), Kunsela Hall Swimming Pool (Delhi, NY) and Catskills Recreation Center (Arkville, NY).
Time alone. What happens here, stays here, so enjoy your moments together. Should you want to venture out, there's lots of unique shopping to do and outdoor winter fun to be had. Always keep an eye on our events calendar for more events around the neighborhood you might want to participate in.
